Bolero

As we all know, this week is a little different than usual for our All Stars. Instead of the usual Waltzes and Tangos, the couples are going to perform dances that are new to or have rarely been done in our ballroom. 

The couples chose the dances for each other and here's the list of who is dancing what on Monday night:

- Gilles & Peta Murgatroyd - Bollywood 

- Kelly & Val - Contemporary

- Melissa & Tony - Jitterbug 

- Sabrina & Louis - Disco 

- Shawn & Derek - Mambo 

I did a little bit of research on the Bolero and here's what I found from AccessDance.com 

"Deemed as the Cuba

n 'dance of love' and was once acknowledged as the "most popular lyric tradition of Latin America," the bolero keeps its reputation as the classic love dance of all times."

"They say that the bolero is a close cousin of the ballroom dance, rumba. They share the same footwork and figures. The bolero includes rise & fall actions which makes it different from the rumba. This dance appears to be light but actually, it is strenuous."
